Choose the MBC series if:

  • You're buying for OEM equipment that's designed around the MBC.
  • You need a compact switch with a specific off-the-shelf pressure range.
  • You're integrating the switch into a control panel, not replacing an existing switch in the field.

To be fair, the MBC series does have its place—it's a well-built switch. I just wouldn't choose it as a general-purpose maintenance replacement when the KP and RT are more familiar to most technicians.

A Final Word on Manuals and Verification

Whatever series you settle on, don't skip the manual. I know that sounds like generic advice, but here's a specific mistake I've made:

I once ordered a quantity of KP15 switches assuming the manual was the same as for the KP1. It's not. The KP15 has a different contact rating and a slightly different adjustment range.
